Ingredients You’ll Need
Cookies
- Oreo cookies (and yes, buying an extra pack for “taste testing” is always a good idea)
Dairy
- Brick-style cream cheese, softened (this helps everything blend smoothly)
Coating + Decor
- White candy melts
- Red candy melts
- Valentine’s Day sprinkles
Optional: Drizzle with melted semi-sweet or dark chocolate if you want an extra chocolatey finish.
Equipment (Helpful, Not Fussy)
- Blender or food processor (or a zip-top bag + rolling pin)
- Mixing bowl
- Cookie scoop (1.5 tablespoon size works great)
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper or wax paper
- Dipping tools (optional but helpful)
How to Make Oreo Truffle Balls
1) Crush the Oreos
Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs. A blender or food processor works great—just process in batches so they break down evenly. If needed, pause and stir with a fork between blends to help everything crush consistently.
No blender? Put the cookies in a sealed plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin.
2) Mix with cream cheese
Line a large baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
In a large bowl, combine Oreo crumbs and softened cream cheese until fully blended.
3) Scoop and roll
Using a 1.5 tablespoon cookie scoop, portion and roll the mixture into balls. Place them on the lined baking sheet.
Freeze for 20–30 minutes, or refrigerate overnight if you’re prepping ahead.
4) Melt the candy melts
While the truffles chill, melt the white candy melts in one bowl and the red candy melts in another, following the package instructions.
5) Dip, drizzle, and decorate
Dip chilled Oreo balls into the melted white candy coating and place them back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
Drizzle with red melted candy and immediately top with sprinkles. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
Tips for Smooth, Pretty Truffles
- Chill before dipping: Slightly frozen truffles dip cleaner and help the coating set properly.
- Don’t over-freeze: If they’re frozen too long, the coating can crack as it sets.
- Avoid a thick candy “foot”: Try placing dipped truffles on a wire rack set over parchment so excess coating drips off cleanly.

Ingredients
8 ounces brick cream cheese, softened
36 OREO Cookies, finely crushed
12 ounces white candy melts
12 ounces red candy melts
Valentine’s Day sprinkles
Instructions
1. Cover large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. When done, mix cream cheese and cookie crumbs until blended.
2. Using a 1.5 tbsp cookie scooper, shape cream cheese mixture into balls and place on the baking sheet (or on a plate). Freeze for 20-30 minutes. You can also do this step the day before and let them chill in the fridge overnight.
3. While the oreo balls are in the freezer, melt the candy melts in two separate bowls according to package instructions.
4. When the oreo balls are finished chilling, dip them in the white candy melts and place back on the parchment paper covered baking sheet. Drizzle with red melted candy and add sprinkles. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
Notes
To avoid the candy melts collecting at the bottom of the truffle, try placing it on a wired cooling rack overtop of the parchment lined baking sheet.

Questions You May Have
How long do Oreo truffles last?
Stored in an airtight container in the fridge, they’ll keep for up to 2 weeks—if they don’t disappear first.
Do Oreo truffles need to be refrigerated?
Yes. Because they’re made with cream cheese, they should be stored in the fridge or freezer.
Why did my Oreo balls crack?
Usually it’s a temperature issue. If the balls aren’t chilled enough, the coating won’t set right. But if they’re too frozen, the candy shell can crack as it firms up.
Can you freeze Oreos (or Oreo truffles)?
Yes! Freeze Oreos in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag. They’re best enjoyed within 3 months. Oreo truffles can also be frozen in a sealed container.
