Description
Light, airy, and sweet, these meringue kisses melt in your mouth. Perfect for parties, gifts, or as an elegant treat.
Ingredients
2 large egg whites (room temperature)
1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
Optional: food coloring
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 225°F (110°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a clean, dry bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
3. Gradually add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff, glossy peaks form.
4. Beat in vanilla and optional food coloring.
5. Transfer mixture to a piping bag fitted with a star tip and pipe small kisses onto the prepared baking sheet.
6. Bake for 60–75 minutes, until dry to the touch.
7. Turn off oven and let meringues cool inside with door slightly ajar.
Notes
Make sure the bowl and beaters are completely grease-free for best results.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
