Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Salt – just a little to balance the sweetness
  • Mini marshmallows – melt smoothly and evenly
  • Lucky Charms cereal – cereal + marshmallows = double magic

How to Make Lucky Charms Marshmallow Treat Bars

  1. Prep the pan
Grease a 9×13-inch pan with cooking spray. If you prefer thicker bars, use two 8×8-inch pans instead. Set aside.
  2. Melt the butter
In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat.
  3. Add marshmallows
Stir in the salt and mini marshmallows. Cook gently, stirring constantly, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
  4. Fold in cereal
Remove the pot from heat. Gently fold in the Lucky Charms cereal, being careful not to crush it.
  5. Press into pan
Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan(s). Lightly grease your hands with butter or cooking spray and gently press the mixture into an even layer.
  6. Cool and slice
Let cool completely, then cut into squares and serve.

Helpful Tips for Perfect Marshmallow Treats

  • Use low heat: Slow melting prevents scorching and keeps the marshmallows silky smooth.
  • Use a rubber spatula: Marshmallow sticks less and mixes more easily.
  • Work quickly: Once melted, the mixture firms up fast.
  • Grease your hands: Makes pressing the bars into the pan much easier.
  • Don’t press too hard: Gentle pressure keeps the bars soft and fluffy—not dense.

Fun Variation

  • White chocolate drizzle: Melt white chocolate and drizzle over cooled bars for a festive finish—perfect for parties or holidays.

How to Store

  • Room temperature: Store in an airtight container for 2–3 days.
  • Freezer: Freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
