Description
A soft, moist and adorable mini cake perfect for celebrations or gifting. This bento cake is light, fluffy, and customizable with your favorite frosting and decoration.
Ingredients
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Buttercream or whipped cream for frosting
Sprinkles or fruits for decoration
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4-inch round cake pan.
2. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In another bowl, beat the egg, then mix in milk, oil, and vanilla.
4. Combine wet and dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
5. Pour batter into the pan and bake for 20-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
6. Let cake cool completely before frosting.
7. Frost with buttercream or whipped cream.
8. Decorate with sprinkles, fruits, or edible flowers.
9. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
You can color the frosting with gel food coloring.
Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Use a serrated knife to level the cake before frosting for a smoother finish.
